Which launch directories actually work?

Built for founders deciding where to submit a product, before the submissions are paid for.

We track 206 places a product can get listed: launch directories, roundups, newsletters and review sites. Our crawler has read 81 of them so far, and only a directory we have read carries numbers: whether the listing page is still there, whether the link is followed, and whether Google indexed it. That is 28,363 listings on record, each stamped with the date it was measured. The other 125 sit in the index with nothing measured yet, shown blank rather than guessed.

Put your logo on the Tower

A pixel tower built from euros. A floor costs one, every site is one section with its logo and link, and sections stack by total paid: the top bid is king, and any rank can be outbid. Nothing is ever lost.

Latest from the crawl

Directories change quietly and nobody tells the people who listed on them. This is what moved recently.

Tracked means the directory is in our index. Read means our crawler has fetched its listing pages, which is what puts numbers on the row. Last read 31 Aug. 125 tracked directories have not been read yet, and are listed with nothing measured rather than left out. The median indexation rate stays unpublished until at least 5 directories carry a measured rate; 2 do today.

Three questions, asked continuously

Every directory in the index is measured against the same three checks, on a schedule, with the result timestamped.

Is the directory still alive

Listing pages are fetched on a schedule. Dead directories and ones that block our crawler are marked as such, and the block is published rather than worked around.

Is the link followed

We read the rel attribute on real listing pages. Claimed link policy is ignored, observed markup wins, and a directory that quietly flips to nofollow shows up in the changelog.

Did Google index it

The share of a directory's listing pages that are actually in the index, sampled and rechecked. A listing nobody can find sent nobody anywhere. This number is published nowhere else.

Check our working

Every figure here is measured against real listing pages and stamped with the date and sample size behind it. Nothing on this site is for sale at the moment, and when something is, it will not be a number: a directory cannot pay for a figure, a position in the table, or a place in the index.
